When designing a new model, the main focus is on the following aspects:
(1) Based on the usage situation of the power inductor, such as on which circuit, the general power inductor can be used in circuits such as DC-DC power supply circuit, audio power supply circuit, CPU circuit, etc;
(2) If it is a DC-DC circuit, it is required that the self harmonic frequency of the power inductor be greater than the frequency of the circuit;
(3) Select the appropriate inductance value based on the circuit design. For example, in a DC-DC circuit, the main function of a power inductor is energy storage and filtering. Generally, a large inductance corresponds to strong filtering characteristics, but at the same time, a large inductance will increase the RDC of the inductor, affecting the rated current and response rate of the inductor. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a reasonable inductance;
(4) Select the power inductor based on the size of the circuit current. There are generally two types of current for the power inductor: DC overlapping current and temperature rise allowable current. When selecting, the smaller one needs to be used as the rated current value.
(5) Select the corresponding size of power inductor based on product size, solder pad, etc.
